It’s a fact: Learning activities at home lead to increased academic achievement.

“High-achieving students of all ages and backgrounds spend at least nine hours of out-of-school time weekly in activities such as reading, writing, and study guided by adults.  In contrast, low-achieving students spend more time on unstructured activities-hanging out, talking on the phone, playing video games, and watching television.â€
